Country Pact for equality and lives free from violence against women

The Country Pact for Equality and lives free from violence against women is the Basque Country’s commitment in the framework of the United Nations' Generation Equality global initiative to accelerate the achievement of equality in our country through the involvement of everyone.

It is a platform that brings together an active community committed to the country's collective effort towards achieving the objectives of the 2030 Agenda.

Gizonduz

Gizonduz is a pioneering programme launched in November 2007 by the Basque Government and led by Emakunde-Basque Institute for Women. It aims to promote the awareness, participation and involvement of men in supporting equality between women and men.

Others initiatives

Nahiko

Nahiko is a coeducational programme or Equality, Respect and Non-violence that promotes coexistence in equality through education in values.

Beldur Barik

Programme to engage young people against gender-based violence and promote attitudes and behaviours based on respect, equality, freedom and autonomy.

Begira

It is an advisory commission and a meeting place, attached to Emakunde-Basque Women’s Institute, that provides advice and carries out analyses to eliminate all types of sexist discrimination in the spheres of publicity and communication.
