Emakunde, the Basque Institute for Women, is an autonomous body of the Basque Government which designs, promotes, advises on, coordinates and evaluates equality policies and raises awareness within society in order to achieve the real and effective equality of women and men in the Basque Autonomous Community

Equality in public policy

The Basque public powers must incorporate the gender perspective in all their policies and actions, so that in all of them they establish the general objective of eliminating inequalities and promoting the equality of women and men.

Gizonduz is the Basque Service for working with men and masculinities for equality, managed by Emakunde-Basque Institute for Women and aimed at promoting awareness, responsibility, participation, and involvement of men in favour of equality between women and men, as well as the promotion of diverse and egalitarian masculinities.
